The 3rd Tip of the Week described how to form groups in GeoWorld. For all you group owners who want to reach out to more members, we created this tip to show you how.

Read more and learn how you can easily leverage the features of GeoWorld groups to bring in more members and engage them in your group’s activities! The more steps you follow, the more people you can invite to join your group. What is more, STEP 3 can also help you win our contest!

1. Log into GeoWorld and click on "Manage Groups" under your avatar image;
2. Click on the group you wish to manage;
3. Click on "Invite contacts" on the left, grey navigation bar, you will see a text box with the letters of the alphabet on top, which allows you to find contacts based on their name;
4. Tick the names of the members in your network you wish to invite;
5. If you like, you can also change the message they will receive with your invitation on the text box below;
6. Click on "Invite" at the bottom of the page.

CONGRATULATIONS! You should have now successfully sent your invitations.

1. First you need to add the members to your personal network, before you can invite them to join your group.
2. To do that, you need to log into GeoWorld and search for the names of the members you wish to add as contacts, using the “Search” box. You can also use GeoMap for that.
3. Click on their name in the results page and once their profile appears, click on “Add as contact” underneath their avatar image.
4. Once they accept and join your personal network, you can invite them to join your group, by following the instructions of STEP 1.

1. Log into GeoWorld and click on “Manage Groups” under your avatar image;
2. Click on the group you wish to manage;
3. Click on “Invite contacts” on the left, grey navigation bar- you will see our new feature that allows you to import and invite contacts from your webmail client.
4. Fill the form with your email, password and email provider and click on “Import contacts” to choose the people you wish to send group invitations to. Complete the process as directed.
5. You can also invite contacts in the usual way, using the last text box on the “Invite contacts” page, and insert the email addresses of the people you wish to invite, manually.

CONGRATULATIONS! You should have now successfully sent your invitations! Once the people you invited accept your invitation, and create a profile in GeoWorld, they will be added to your personal network, and will become members of your group at the same time.

>> EXTRA TIP: To give admin privileges to a member of your group, click on “View more members” on the group’s main page. Move your mouse on the avatar (photo) of that person and click on the arrow that appears. Several options will emerge- click on the one that says “Add group admin”.
